Gratz!!! That's awesome for you!!

Money gets offered to them, but its always convertible debt and I worry about the shenanigans I see surrounding that kind of financing.

Maybe we were stupid, but our families have been close over the years. And my father and the CEO's died of (different) cancers within 3 months of one another. And I know their family has tremendous "skin in the game" financially, so they don't have the option of failure.. So we invested the old fashioned way.. Private shares.

My father would have wanted it that way.

When I did my diligence, I realized this was the closest thing to a recession proof business that I've yet to come across. In an economic downturn there are always more crimes to solve. And throw in the inevitable major food born pathogenic outbreak (which the tech was originally designed to detect), and we're talking a multi-billion dollar market. And let's not even mention biological terrorist attacks..

They know what they have. They really aren't interested in going public, certainly not before being profitable, They see a buyout in a few years from some major laboratory device company.

I guess I just like to post their progress out here as an example of why entrepreneurial risk-taking is so critical to what makes this country great.
