< Sorta like crossing over into
some kind of fairyland... :)>

I'd been out since June 26th...my hair was still short. I had been hanging out with some hippies in Cambridge in a triple decker...kind of commune although I don't know who owned it - so, I was getting used to the alternate universe of the anti-war movement and music scene there. Woodstock was unlike anything I'd ever seen...biggest outdoor show to that point I'd ever experienced was the USO review in Tan Son Nhut with Bob Hope (was stationed with MACV there at the airbase). It was dream-like and completely fun....girls everywhere. I was very interested in the music scene and was just awestruck with the stage, how they projected the sound etc. I found out that the Grateful Dead were there, but playing in a different location on the site....never saw them. The only advantage I seemed to have was when it started raining people were freaking out and miserable....it didn't faze me...squatted on haunches with some cardboard in an a-frame shape (no poncho) and waited it out.

Long time ago...
