A 50,000-share block was traded at 1:06PM (pacific time) today
at 20. A mutual fund, no doubt...any guesses as to whether funds
are buying or selling at this point? My guess: it was probably DMG
picking up cheap shares which they themselves caused with the news
they came out with last week. Remember that analysts who have buy
recommendations on stocks they follow make more money if they buy
their "recommended" stocks at lower prices. Similarly, they love
to drive prices up and sell out when the small investors are buying
in. I think these analysts have mastered the game with Atmel
(heck, maybe the thing to do is let these guys manage some of our
money...).
