That's really spurious logic, Tench.

You're implying that the only possible reason Obama would need to raise taxes is because he's increased spending.

Taxes were too low to cover our expenditures before Obama entered office, and that's been the case for most of our history, particularly since Reagan and Bush cut income taxes.

I'm not a deficit hawk, so I don't think that raising taxes needs to be our highest priority right now, but it's something we should do.
