Yes, that taxes that are sold as being "on the rich" inevitably hit the middle class. That hated AMT is a great example. I remember the stories of millionaires paying no income tax that were used to sell the AMT and now millions of middle class folks pay the AMT. I hate the AMT and blame the Democrats for it.
