China will proactively introduce a set of new taxation policies designed to preserve the environment, including a tax on carbon dioxide emissions,

So.. the solution is to give a government more money and the pollution problem will suddenly go away?

How about laws and regulations that are enforced against those who pollute? Fine them for their violations..

I've no problem with enforcing pollution laws and promoting better technology to clean up the air and water.

But the problem you have is that you believe CO2 is a pollutant.. And that is all that a carbon tax will focus on..

Not the mercury.. not the photochemical smog.. not the polluted waterways.. not the melamine in the milk..

So let them tax carbon.. it will be a financial shell game and only negatively impact their economic growth.
