AAUKY - Bruwin, what is your opinion about this stock? I'd like to ask you, since you are living in South Africa and Anglo American still has it's roots there. There is a lot of headline news about the Platinum operations, which I think are in the red, and I don't think the market assigns much value to them anyways. he company had not been managed well, with gigantic cost overruns with that Brazilian iron ore venture, and that strange De Beers takeover at the peak if the diamond businrss cycle apparently, but the balance sheet still looks oK, there is 3$+/share in earnings power and hope that new management does better thsn Cynthia Carroll. I own some shares and I think I go for more. The stock is cheaper now in relative terms than during thr great recession in late 2008/2099, when it was going for 9$, if you consider the earnings and projects that should have imoroved intrinsic value since then, as well as the much better economic framework (higher product prices) finance.yahoo.com
