Michael J. Skopos, P. Geologist, has informed Chandeleur Bay management that he has received the necessary permits, from the State of California, to commence rehabilitating the access to the North Fork mine, located in Sierra County, California.
The Company has received an estimate, from a mining engineering company, to conduct the work. Once the previous workings are accessed, the Company intends to sample those areas of high grade gold, indicated on the previous production maps, in order to confirm the database.
In addition, Chandeleur Bay will set up diamond drilling stations from which extensions of indicated ore zones can be tested. Diamond drilling from underground will be more accurate and less expensive than drilling from surface through the lava cap which covers the old workings.
Besides testing the lode deposit, the Company also intends to delineate the gold bearing underground river beds from which spectacular placer gold has been produced in the past.
The management of Chandeleur Bay is encouraged by the high grade gold discoveries recently announced by our neighbors, Brush Creek and the 16 to 1 mine.
