I don't know what you guys are talking about. Of everything I ever learned in my life, finally understanding existentialism (and not until I was over 30) was the biggest accomplishment of my life.

I spent years pursuing it without even knowing that was what I was after. All I knew was that I was after something I could not see, or understand, but was sure existed.

You wake up one day and see it. That is a very satisfying thing.

It is a real thing. And once understood, not so much understood as seen in the minds eye, provides one with pure freedom. Because it put ones existence into its proper perspective i.e. reality, and is a shield against dumb primitive dogma.

I told both of my daughters it was the most important thing they could ever understand in their life and that goes for everyone.

IMNSHO.
