What austerity has brought is a recognition that you can't live on your kids money forever. Too bad we haven't figured that out in the US.

We were talking about Keynesian economics...you've switched to debt burden....ok...for what it's worth...there are people who are saying that austerity in the UK will actually increase the public debt through lower growth or negative growth...again, keynesian economics in reverse.

Jim O'Neill, the chairman of
Goldman Sachs Asset Management, said the chancellor's continued pursuit of austerity despite signs that the economy was stagnating, including worse-than-expected GDP figures, risked a lost decade for the British economy with low growth and increasing public debt.
