This is waaaaay convoluted; Krugman to Klein to Simpson on whatever newscaster he was talking to - still; .........If Krugman doesn't think we are in "imminent fiscal crises" now, I suggest he turn on his TV!! ..........You are going to say yes but he was referring to SS. But that's the whole issue; SS is now part of the "imminent fiscal crises" because all the excess money has been loaned to the federal government which has spent it. That's part of what makes this budget crises so important and dangerous - and why each side is willing to bet the economic welfare of our country by standing their ground. ..........I'm going to be generous and say that Krugman is just stupid on this because of the way his brain works because the alternative is to say he is intentionally trying to deceive.
