Al, the phrase "closing of tax loopholes" is a slogan. Any way you slice it amounts to higher taxes, which will necessarily take money out of the economy.


Fine...but the debt is an issue and spending cuts alone won't solve it. Frankly I think we need total tax overhaul...but i shudder to think of that debate between the two parties...it's pretty hopeless until one party regains control or the other agrees to compromise.
