K.J.,

As far as I know, MKII supports the standard FC frames and payload size of about 2k(minus FC header, frame delimiters).

This statement has had me terrified all morning, thanks.

I called Cal Nelson and he was nice enough to talk to me (probably sensed the terror in my voice <g>). Originally they designed the switch with 512 byte frames because it was faster. (The standard called for frames of up to 2K).

A portion of the industry decided to go with 2K frames and as a result Ancor also offers 2K frames as well with the MKII. Ancor offers both 512K and 2K frame sizes. It is false that they don't offer 2K frames. More Brocade tripe to scare customers away from Ancor. They may be a private company but that does not exonerate them from telling lies about their competitors.

K.J., I am trying to make sure you are wrong about the 2048 bytes minus FC headers frame delimeters . I will post later when I find out for sure. For software and hardware reasons and IMO that would be a terrible design and I don't think that is accurate, but I am making sure so we can all rest easy. I am hoping each frame has 2048 bytes plus FC headers and frame delimeters and I'm sure I will find this is the case.
