The story says "SyQuest also reported it expects to ship all SparQ products scheduled for manufacture this quarter, nearly 50,000 SparQ drives and 90,000 SparQ cartridges."
So that means that the maximum number of SparQ drives that they expect to ship for the entire quarter is less than 50,000. Plus 90,000 disks. Let's see, if they started shipping in mid-November, then that means a shipping rate of somewhere around 100,000 per quarter, or 33,333 per month. And this assumes that they ship what they expect to ship.
Anyone want to take a crack at a revenue projection based on that? Remember to use wholesale pricing.
For fun, try to estimate how many of the SparQ drives will be sold to people who might have bought a SyJet instead.

PS: Just finished reading the last few posts. I see that Mr. Coley has already roughed out his revenue estimates, which are probably a tad high, but still in the ballpark. So what about the bite into SyJet sales? |
