IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 4, 1997--C. K. Cooper & Co. Thursday released a two page research update on Pease Oil & Gas Inc. (Nasdaq:WPOG) wherein the issue was raised to a Short-Term: Strong-Buy, Long-Term: Strong-Buy.

Commenting on the report, Alexander G. Montano, analyst said: "Over the past couple of weeks we have seen a general decline in share prices among the smaller oil and gas issues. We continue to believe that selective purchases will provide attractive returns well into 1998. Based on several recent meetings with management of Pease we believe that the overall fundamental picture at the company has not changed. Therefore with the stock having pulled back below the $2.00 per share level, we feel comfortable that the upside reward is much greater than the potential downside risk. We believe that this issue could be trading in excess of $3.50 by early 1998 offering a strong, short-term opportunity."

This report noted that Pease is still an exploration driven company and as a result is subject to higher degrees of risk compared to other issues followed by C. K. Cooper & Co.
