Thanks for the quick post.

The 3 Com business is very significant in my opinion for these reasons:

1. First big buyer to validate the integrated mixed signal concept.
2. Analog has the skills to do this well and are ahead of others.
3. Substantial cost reduction and advantage. The two fax modems I use have 7 chips (2 Analog's) and 5 chips (No Analog's). In the long term, cost is related to chip count.

I would expect more custom communications products to follow.
