Thanks. The language structure theory piqued my curiosity, but I don't have the background to evaluate it.

Meanwhile, here's a topic I'm a bit more familiar with. Scandinavians like to think they invented skiing, but others now suggest it was developed in the Altai Mountains along the border of western Mongolia and China. There are still some nomads in this remote region making and using an ancient and traditional type of ski. If I ever visit China, this place would be interesting to see...
