Wal-Mart Same Store Sales Climb 14% To $10.6 Bln

BENTONVILLE, Ark., Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.
reported net sales for the four-week period ending November 28, 1997, of
$10,655,000,000, an increase of 14.0% from the $9,350,000,000 in the
similar period of the prior year. For the 43-week period ending
November 28, 1997, sales increased 12.3% to $93,565,000,000.

Sam's Clubs sales for the four-week period were $1,793,000,000,
up 5.4% from $1,701,000,000 in the similar prior year period. Club
sales for the 43 weeks of $16,610,000,000 were up 3.9% over the similar
prior year period.

Comparable sales for the periods were as follows:
