With the occupants of the WH It's all about what the perception of your role is and whether you are genuine or not and/or trying to "milk" a situation.

If Obama showed up at a Bulls game and gave an interview post game (on the Bulls) nobody, or least not any sane person, would say that is out of line as he is both a basketball player (still plays with the secret service and FBI guys with a mouth guard in place) and has been a Bulls fan for years. He has a genuine connection to the game.

Like wise, if Michelle had been an actress in the business instead of lawyer prior to her becoming first lady there probably would not have been the criticism there has been of her appearance on the Oscars TV Show as she would have had a genuine association with the movie industry.

But she doesn't have a genuine connection to the industry. She's just using her position as first lady to "horn in" on the event---and to me it looks exploitive.

Sure I want my leaders to be human also, but I want them also to respect the limitations of thier roles as politicians/and/or leaders of the country and keep their professional duties separate from their private lives.

Appreciate you thinking I'm not that old--I do feel young at heart.
