Report predicts rapid intranet uptake! The other report I was talking about. September 17, Knight Ridder and Datamonitor put out a report called Internet: The Future of Corporate Networks. -claim that worldwide intranet software sales will reach US$4B by 2000. -specialized server software will grow to become the most lucrative segment of the webware market, overtaking the browser software which now takes the lion's share of the market -increase in interest in integrated webware applications and applets as Java is accepted as a secure technology towards the end of century -as intranets provide cross-platform compatibility, a common platform will replace what has previously been a set of distinct software segments. -etc... Hope they are right since SUNW and IBM are diving deep into this market. DF
