Not if you define "solvency" as an excess of assets over liabilities. It has sufficient assets on hand to pay about three years worth of benefits which, in a private pension, would be considered totally unacceptable. I've been over this with you time and again and you still don't get it, so I really feel there is no reason to continue trying to explain it to you.

As to government projections, they pretty consistently miss but almost always understating the problem. That is the case the SS.

My wife is fine with Medicare but of course has a supplement. In fact, beneficiaries rarely complain -- it is the providers who complain, and the fact that the program is dead broke that makes it a failure.
