If they were superstitious mugs you would sing their praises to high heaven. You are insulting them only because they are revered Scientists and authors--acclaimed and respected by their educated peers. You need only look at the numerous accolades and awards given to both of them by reputable organizations and august bodies and Institutions across the planet--in nation after nation--to see the contributions they have made to humanity. Pretending that your gratuitous opinion trumps such an overwhelming consensus is rather silly.

You can insult a soldier coming home on a stretcher with a purple heart, too. After all...it is a free country. But your insults will not take the medal from his or her chest--or dissolve the esteem and regard that honest and rational people hold for him or her. Just an analogy...hoping that will help you to understand? Calling that soldier a "lightweight" does not change the Truth. I hope this analogy helps you to understand.

The reason you insult Dawkins, Krauss, and most other scientists (with the noted exceptions of the few who cannot separate myth from fact), is that they sell reason to the public and dismantle superstitious constructs invented in our primitive past. You probably think they are evil and working for the mythic "devil" who occupies your imagination (you may correct me if I am wrong in that assumption). But the truth is they are just damn good scientists doing damn good Science. Just damn fine people trying to educate and instruct the public with the very best of intentions: to create a saner and kinder world for humans to grow up in.
