Yup. I was very aware of the "teasing" angle. The ladies' names on my side of the family - Erna and Dagmar, just to pull up highlights - kinda fell off the table in a hurry. Helen's tentative middle name is Dione. Emphasis on first syllable. Nothing to do with a dead princess. Heather - two dings. First (and deciding) it sounds all wrong in German. Second (and entirely subjective) it's a worn-out yuppie moniker. Like Brittany or Megan. You just know there will be a couple of each in ther daycare pool. I've (teasingly!!) threatened Spouse with naming a boy "Jed", in honor of her Southeastern roots, or maybe "Pythagoras". Sort of a retroactive abortion when the other first-graders kick the poo out of him, on general principles.
