Team USA had only briefly been in the position its in with respect to energy, It has never had a 50 year forward window where our view of the world was not constrained by the international cabals of national oil companies.
We know from the next report and hundreds of others from oilland, that NOC's are not interested in our type of economy, where creative disruption actually enters our matrix from time to time. NOC's have had a good run with USA as the demand destination for all that blackgold...as a customer, team USA has added massive amounts of resources through money transfer, to non sympathetic agencies whose enterprise was increasing prices too the low hanging fruit of demand.
Now we are in the next baktun....it wont be like the last baktun, all the simple demand logics that enabled NOC's to count on the teet for demand will be affected. China and USA are doing deals right and left, we have China as a Supplier for so many of our goods. The difference between China Inc and NOC's is that China knows how good a customer we are. China has learned and contributes to our learning. Me thinks that the moves by China will not be any different than the moves we saw by Japan and then korea and Mexico. The Variable Time shapes of Capital will grind on...those one trick pony NOC's, they have an entirely different dynamic heading thier way...these opinions will be extrapolated here and after as the marketplace provides the fodder.
Brazil crude oil output slides 2.4% - ANP BY JEFF FICK
RIO DE JANEIRO -- Brazilian crude oil output slid for the first time in 4 months in January as the end of long term well tests undercut production to start 2013, the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), said.
Brazil produced an average 2.054 MMbopd in January, down 2.4% from December and 7.9% from January 2012, the ANP said.
Oil production in Brazil was expected to decline in the first half of 2013 because of continuing maintenance work at aging offshore platforms operated by Petrobras. Brazil also has encountered productivity declines at mature fields in the offshore Campos Basin, which accounts for the majority of the country's crude.
The troubles have offset new production from the country's much anticipated subsalt fields, a series of ultra deepwater oil discoveries buried under a thick layer of salt off the country's Atlantic Ocean coast. Brazil's subsalt region, where new wells recently have increased production, produced 264 Mbopd in January, the ANP said.
Natural gas production also fell slightly, sliding to 75.9 MMcmpd in January from a record of 76.2 MMcmpd in December, the ANP said.
