3/8/13 Contest Update
The flight of the Obama Bull Market droned on for another week. And biotechs, in particular, extended their killer performance.
At Friday’s close, the Contest median zoomed to a 16.24% YTD gain (vs. up 9.10% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Biotech Index finished the week up 13.55% (vs. up 9.01% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index ended up 7.45% YTD (vs. up 4.98% YTD a week ago).
FILO’s portfolio, up 37.10% YTD, kept climbing at a torrid pace and remained Contest Commander. NIGEL’s portfolio, up 35.60% YTD, held on to second place and RKRW’s portfolio, up 29.61% YTD, took third place.
At Friday's close, 34 of the 39 Contest portfolios were in the black with 22 of the 39 beating the NBI.
