That is, of course, your opinion which you're entitled to. But you totally missed the point.

The important point, though, is that national defense (whether particular individuals support a given war or not) is a legitimate function of government. It may occur through the course of history that we go to war when we shouldn't (the Democrats' decision to go to war in Vietnam being the most significant example). Nevertheless, national defense is a legitimate function of government.

Buying food for its people may a legitimate function of SOME governments but it is clearly not of ours. Providing taxpayer funded health care is not, either.
