It seems to me that sequestration, i.e. the latest result of Republican "obstructionism," hasn't caused this country to fall apart yet, despite the ominous warnings from Obama and some so-called "economists."


No one called for it to cause the economy to fall apart...nor did anyone call for immediate effects...the CBO made some predictions about 750K jobs lost and some percentage off economic growth...by the time we pay benefits to folks who will lose these jobs, and finish counting the tax revenue lost as a result the savings will be mostly negated.

No, the problem with republican obstruction spans far and wide...wider than this latest episode.

I'm sure, of course, that Obama will take credit for the resulting drop in the deficit, just like Clinton took credit for balancing the budget that congressional Republicans passed.


Not surprising...you consistently think the worst of Obama and the most benign about the GOP.

In that likelihood, it would seem that obstructionism isn't achieving the political goals of the Republicans. And that tells me that complaining about said obstructionism plays brilliantly into the hands of the Democrats.


Would be true if republicans hadn't gerrymandered districts so thoroughly as to create a firewall to house losses.
