To each their own, but for my money, there are still plenty more drinks at the waterhole for INTC, MSFT and technology stocks in general. Someone pointed out that BB has MSFT as a "hold". He's had it there for quite some time. Meanwhile the stock has what? Doubled? Tripled? I sure don't think you can put this stock in the Xerox or IBM category just yet. JMHO.
As for Coke, I wouldn't buy it right now but I'm sure glad I bought it a few years ago. And if someone gave me a big chunk of "new money" I'd put at least a small amount in KO. Here's just one and probably an irrational and irrelevant reason why: I'm involved with the American Red Cross and they are very proud to point out that some big study showed that the Red Cross symbol is the second most recognized symbol in the whole world. Guess what the MOST recognized symbol or logo is: you got it, Coca Cola. In other words, more people in more places recognize it than the $ sign, American flag, religious symbols, etc. That tells me that this stock deserves to trade at something beyond its valuation. How much that is I don't know, but if Coke is good enough for Warren Buffett, it's good enough for me.
