It's about time this thread woke up. Here's an upgrade from Merrrill. NEW YORK, Dec 4 (Reuters) - Merrill Lynch said on Thursday it raised its rating on shares of Monsanto Co to a near-term accumulate from neutral while keeping its long-term buy rating on the stock. -- Analyst Doug Groh said work Monsanto has done to develop businesses like Searle and agricultural products is now starting to pay benefits. -- Company also announced at a meeting on Wednesday it would focus efforts on the area of genomics, which Groh said could be a source of strong growth. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
