>Now you're just playing dumb.

Right back at you, skipper.

>Obama was in campaign mode the first two months of this year, telling the public exactly how disasterous sequestration would be to the average American.

He's been saying it would suck. He's been saying that all along. The loss of 700,000 jobs over a year or so really sucks. Loss of a few tenths of a percent of GDP really sucks. Disaster? Not on the same level as 2008. But it sucks. Obama has never said it's the end of the world. But he has said that it's a pretty bad thing, and it is.

>You see how it works, don't you? He picks and chooses "average Americans" who would be directly affected by cuts, which elicits feelings of sympathy and outrage.

Are those 700,000 people not average Americans? Are the kids losing Head Start not average Americans? Every halfway decent politician cites examples of how policy affects people when talking about the policy.

>But he neglects to mention that for the vast majority of Americans, sequestration would be but a small speed bump in the road to economic recovery.

How does losing 700K jobs and lowering GDP growth lead to economic recovery? It's just one bad option among the array of bad options currently being made available to Obama.

And no, he really hasn't changed his tune much:

I don't know how you're getting your understanding of Obama's approach from the things he's actually said. But I'm guessing you're getting them from other people's deliberately skewed interpretations of the things he's said... the "Obama on the campaign trail" talking point comes directly from the Fox braintrust, and you're using it over and over.
