Is that in US$? In 1970, I was getting 80c per hour. Now it would be more like $20 an hour for the same sort of job, which is 25 times as much. I guess China has had similar pay rate increases if not more.

A calculator in 1974 cost $200 and now costs near enough to nothing for the same functionality. Computers are another thing altogether. Prices have moved all over the place. Air fares [in hours worked to buy a fare] have fallen hugely.
