>> Name a presidential 8 year term that was better than Clintons....

I can name a bunch -- but Reagan and Bush 43 both stand out.

Clinton's biggest challenge was to keep his pecker in his pants (at which he obviously failed). Reagan and Bush 41 handed him a near-perfect situation. The Cold War was over, Bush 41 had pushed back Saddam, and all Clinton had to do was keep it between the ditches.

Clinton did have the good sense to come to terms with Gingrich, which resulted in a strong economy during Clinton's second term -- welfare cuts and tax cuts, accompanied by a huge peace dividend from Reagan ending the Cold War. And no major foreign or domestic policy incidents.

Clinton is still popular today, of course -- but his speech at the convention last year sullied him even further; it was important in getting Obama reelected, which is proving to be an absolute disaster for the country. While no one thinks about it now, history will charge him with an important role in reelecting the worst president in modern history, and perhaps of all time.
