Scott,

Great reply! Now seriously - which market maker is it
that is consistantly selling the stock?

The stock being down due to SUNW cutting back on the orders
was not news. That event was known months ago and actually
part of the RTEC projections. Or is there another single
customer of RTEC larger than SUNW?

I also see nothing but upside for RTEC. At least for the
next 18-24 months. After that it depends on what else RTEC
comes out with. This is based on the following:

1. SUNW is not providing the ability to run SunOS on the Ultra.

2. Companies are not ready/able to migrate everything forward
to Solaris (for one reason or another).

3. The cost sunk into the Sparc-5 (by the customers that bought
them) is such that they will not replace them within 3 years
of their purchase date.

4. Sun does not have the product to improve the performance of
the Sparc-5 to the level that RTEC has.

5. The current price of Ultra is in the "capital cost" range
and not the "direct cost" range. Meaning for many companies
if they buy an Ultra, they have to use capital money rather
than cost of work money and therefore wind up with depreciating
the equipment over some number of years. Viewed as a no no
when buying desktop equipment where I worked.

I don't think the Sparc-plug will be a major item - at least not
in large companies. There are better ways to solve that problem
in large environments. The Sparc clone has a chance. I'm very
interested in how that sells.
