The sponsorship idea has merit. This will help provide quality information to the thread for the person recommending has done their research, can support their selection, and can edjucate others in what they have found in order for each person to make an informed choice.

But, at the same time, we as a group have to be careful with this approach. Since we are human beings, and the sponorship of stock will cause some to be personally invested in their choice that they present to the group, we need to be careful to acknowledge each individuals efforts. It needs to be made clear to each individual sponsoring a stock that even though the group or individuals in the group may not agree with the selection, or act on a recommendation that they spent perhaps allot of time putting together, this in no way reflects on the value of their contribution to the group. There needs to be room for discussion and even challenge with no impact being felt by the person who sponsored the stock being discussed. And this message needs to be present in all of the groups interactions. This is not easy to do in a group setting, but still possible.
