Obamacare hasn't even gone into effect yet, for the most part.

Exactly what I said in my other post...but according to you it has destroyed the health care system already. C'mon man...get some objectivity.

Meanwhile, private plans are killing ratepayers.

So far they are not killing anything in my family's case...I will tell you what has happened to my and my wife's health plans...in both cases, preventive care has now become free and no longer subject to the deductibles. In her case, she has a private plan, the rate has remained exactly the same AND last year she received a rebate from her provider because the company was operating outside the limits set by ACA for admin costs. Sooooo, her costs and mine have both gone down for both reasons.

Did your friend bother to say, "Why the fuck do I need an MRI?" It wasn't forced on him. Personally, I take responsibility for my own treatment. Because I have to pay for it.

The way he figures it doesn't cost him anything...his insurance company pays for it (even though in the end the costs are passed on to him)....AND, he is from a generation that doesn't question doctors. That goes on everyday, thousands of times a day. That is what is wrong with US health cost.
