omg......Read carefully....the governor is the commander of the National Guard in his state but the NG can be federalized by the president..... In both Alabama and Arkansas, the NG was nationalized, ie went under the control of the president.. Wallace wasn't arrested because he stepped aside....he would have been bodily removed if he resisted..
