when it comes to numbers, I have advanced degrees, so I know what I'm talking about. What I find is that folks like you don't do the math and then suffer from emotional outbursts when those of us who do the math suggest that SS and Medicare are not sustainable.
So in response to your post, I suggest that you do the math and refrain from emotional attachment to your opinions. Emotions cloud judgement. I know you have some engineering background, so frankly I'm surprised that you'd take anecdotal evidence as proof of your opinion, instead of looking at population statistics and SS and Medicare cash flows.

As you very well know, anecdotal evidence is worthless when discerning outcomes at the population level.
