<<What am I missing?>> Well, my "FWIW" for one thing. I never said I was abandoning all skepticism.
BUT it does look as if storage will come in under recent BCF's this year. The gas forecast depends on the price increases ($4=$4.50) not being high enough to lure rigs back to the chase.

As for crude: I'm not convinced that the rapidly spreading interest in horiz drilling, etc, will outweigh the rapidly increasing demand quotient in China and elsewherte. But Bob Desroche, say, is as well informed as any observer, and his repeated nudges need to be kept in mind. Putin and the Chinese are actively pushing for more hydrocarbons, and both have plenty of turf to poke and prod. The fantasy of US "energy independence" is a non-starter. No serious observer makes that claim.

Disclosure: I'm long a number of crude E&Ps, no gassers. I'm well aware of how ticklish the metrics prove to be. The post is purely a heads up.
