As Ten pointed out, this is PRECISELY how free markets are supposed to operate. While there is no evidence CostCo benefits in any way at all from paying its employees more, it does so because IT believes there is. If Walmart believed it would be better off paying $4/hour that ought to be its right to do so, and by interfering with business exercising its rights, it only causes further problems.

IN the case of minimum wage, there is no legislation I know of that does more harm to minorities than the minimum wage. It pushes them onto the public dole and it prevents them from gaining much needed work ethic and experience. It is just plain stupid.
