Hi Janet,
The authors of that article seem to oppose irradiation. Look at how much space the tiny Food and Water left-wing extremist group got. I personally think it is irresponsible reporting to echo terms like "unique radiolytic byproducts". These are the only Chicken Littles screaming that term around, and there is no confirming source, which was pointed out in the article. Sort or par for the course at the Times.
