Further results from the 50/50 JNR Resources - Consolidated Pine Channel
joint venture in the Pine Channel area of the Northern mining district,
Saskatchewan, which includes CBS 8175 and other recently staked claims,
continue to look most encouraging. Further prospecting (second pass), along
with geophysical results and earlier sample results from the area have been
combined to identify drill targets.
In addition, further work has uncovered four new mineralized areas. The
most interesting of these is the South Cole Lake quartz-sulphide zone,
where 14 selected mineralized samples averaged 1,069 oz/ton gold, 5.09
oz/ton silver, 3.13% lead and 2.63% zinc.
To date, geophysics and ground prospecting evaluation have resulted in the
selection of eight different mineralized areas for drill testing.
Mobilization of men and equipment commenced September 17 1996, with
drilling to start as soon as possible.
The property, west of Stoney Rapids, is scheduled to be serviced by an
all-weather road, presently under construction, and the power line from
Uranium City will go through the property, within 2 km of the showings.
