You may be correct and for sure ATP will not be drilling those costly wells for a long time or never, BUT the type of discovery made does do a couple things, in my opinion....First, it re-inforces the kind of wells you can get in GOM NEAR ATP, like the famous 50, 60, 70,000 BPD ?? Macondo....Who REALLY knows what that was flowing....Second, it has a "wealth effect" on all those companies mentioned today as their share prices increase, giving better borrowing ability and it makes them desire more potential locations. This may not DIRECTLY help ATP, but I argue it sure does help in intangible ways at a minimum.
