Either way, it's unlikely to be the disaster the Bush presidency was.
Let me put it this way.

If Gore were president, 9/11 would still have happened, but the Taliban would still be in power at the end of Gore's first term.

If Kerry were president, Iraq would have been even worse off today than they are now, even with the bombings that happened recently.

And either way, we would have had the collapse of the real estate market, the financial meltdown, and the Great Recession that followed.

So yeah, Gore and Kerry would have been worse. A LOT worse.
