We have seen some recovery today and a little profit taking late in the session.
I have read the patent that Yurie was issued, and it was quite interesting. There are 44 claims, some of which seem very particular to ATM, yet, with this may claims, it would seem to cover a fair amount of competitive ground. I am not an expert and would appreciate anyone who has some ATM knowledge to take a look at US 5,568,482 and give an opinion.
The most intriguing aspect to me was that their invention will support baud rates from 2400 to several megabaud. Explicitly mentions radio transmission as a means for sending/receiving signal. I thought this was pretty cool as it would seem to be applicable for handheld transponders (cell phones, military communications gear, etc) Now, if this is part of the future of ATM, I think Kim's and Li's patent could become very important to a lot of manufacturers.
Does anyone have any thoughts on these possibilities?
