If there is a buyout on the way, it doesn't need to be announced today. IMHO, we'll know the rumor is false when those who bought large positions today begin to dump. Whatever is going on, rest assured someone knows the truth and is trading on the information. Either buying now or using the runup as an opportunity to bail (ala NOVL, IFMX). Personally, I have no idea yet what is going on -- but by nature I tend to be skeptical.
