Second Amendment has nothing to do with hunting.
Most people do not own assault weapons. They own semi-automatic rifles. Some of them the gov't considers scary looking and has banned and wants to ban again.
I agree the US is a violent country. Lack of opportunity, lack of education, lack of money, gangs, latchkey kids, single parent households, divorce, all contribute to the decline of Society.
We have a lot of gun laws. What POTUS passed as an executive order is already illegal. All he did was make it a Federal crime. Straw man purchases is what I am specifically referring to. I think evey aspect of mis-using a gun is covered several times by many laws. But we need more! Not.
The so called assault weapons ban is an empty gesture. "But we have to do SOMETHING!" is the latest mantra. Short of confiscation, the anti-gunners will never get what they want. Registration and confiscation in Canada did not work, it cost billions and was ultimately rescinded. Bans won't work.
You should go shooting. Find a friend with a gun, you have some whether you know it or not, and go shooting. It is fun, relaxing and very challenging. |
