3/22/13 Contest Update So I guess the lesson from Cyprus is if you’re going to launder money wash it on Wall Street, where the banks are too big to fail. At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 14.72% YTD (vs. up 15.85% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 13.76% (vs. up 13.67% YTD a week ago) and the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 7.47% YTD (vs. up 7.60% YTD a week ago). As evidenced once again, RKRW has a knack (or as it might be put this week, “ANAC”) for stock-picking. ANAC’s surge helped vault RKRW’s portfolio, up 36.68% YTD, into first place, with FILO’s portfolio, up 33.91% YTD, slipping to second place and NIGEL’s portfolio, up 31.59% YTD, holding on to third place. At Friday's close, 35 of the 39 Contest portfolios were in the black with 21 of the 39 still beating the NBI. Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost YTD (foreign stock prices are not converted to US$ in these two tables). Portfolio adjustments: None Have a terrific first weekend of spring biotechies! (All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.) Peace & good health, Bulba
