Thanks for the Brocade link. It is valuable information but a little bit bias, understandably though. Class 1 service is good for building large networks(we knew that). Class 2/3 is suitable to maximize the usage of bandwidth. However, in a fairly loaded network, constant IO interrupts in order to provide fair service to whoever that needs it adds tremendous load on the switch. Latency of the switch will add up quickly. Class 1 definitely has its application. Class 2/3 will grap the bulk of the market for the forseable future IMHO.
