Great analysis, Sense, and I apologize for not replying earlier, I missed your post somehow. I admit I fell for the whole Moly "made in America" Corp story and that it has clouded my judgment. But the string of bad news coupled with the Shock Exchange articles on Molycorp over at Seeking Alpha has cleared away most of the confusion. That along with some comments by "Ausheds" to his articles also. But I believe(as I think so does Jack Lifton) that Con K is the person to clean up the mess. Either he does or this company is going down. With declining basket prices and still no full relief on the cost front, the plans to spend more money have to be thrown out along with the tailings, at least until a cogent plan based on reality, not phony hype such as accompanied the ipo, is developed and carried out. That or sell off some of the assets, which Con K obliquely signaled at the earnings call. Sense, I am not even sure anybody there has a clear idea what the final goal of the company is: sell Mountain Pass products or be the Saviour of the Free World by trying to buy up a heavy laden junior and compete on all fronts with China? My personal opinion and worth about as much as any other talking head's is that they should stick to Mountain Pass- figure out a way to pare off all extraneous debt and assets and just be a boring steady reliable producer of low cost, value added products to anybody, anywhere as long as their money is good.
