People like Einstein, Epictetus, Joseph Campbell, Epicurus, Darwin, Paine, Franklin, Edison, etc. I have NEVER heard him praise Hitler, Joshua, Moses, Stalin, Pol Pot, Idi Amin--or any other of the mass murderers of history or myth. Have you??
So the accusation that he is a (potential) mass murderer or misanthrope is far more revealing of the accuser (which was Brumar and seconded by you), than it is of the gratuitously accused. The cards read.
If you want to find someone who has potential for cruelty or murder--find someone who admires such people. If you want to find someone (for instance) who admires incest, then find someone who openly supports (for instance) the story of Lot who impregnated both his daughters. You don't accuse someone who consistently admires Einstein and despises Stalin of being someone who supports the Stalins of the world and is against the Einsteins? That is so transparently stupid and phoney, that it immediately raises a red flag against the accuser. |
